Questions about my new baby albino....

tonebone Oct 21, 2004 12:01 AM

Ok, all the Leos I have owned I bought as adults. So After I got the new baby's cage all set up I picked him up out of the container, Surprisingly he emitted a loud hiss and lunged for me. Is this normal behavior for a baby? or an albino thing??

thanks

thats fairly normal. they make noise when scared sometimes, and the lung thing is a defensive move. its ok, just try no to mess wiht it for a couple days so it settles down. over time it will get more used to you.

Almost all of our babies have done that. I told my husband that they thought they were little dinosaurs...lol

yeah that is definately normal. Kind of cute too, lol. Just dont handle him for a few days until he has time to settle in and is eating regularly. After that, gentle handling should mellow him out until he is as mellow as any adult!
