Snakes, sharks, and sunburns...a day at the beach

snakeguy88 Jun 28, 2003 10:42 PM

Today, Scott and I headed down along with my friends Jamey and Miles to do some herping and fishing with surf rods. Day started out slow with a dead N. rhombifera as well as a DOR holbrooki. I then spotted a nice little AOR holbrooki, very pretty little guy. Then we found TMTC neonate ribbons (all AOR, prolly 3 inches) and Dekays (both AOR and DOR) as well as about 6 DOR slender glass lizards. Fishing was good too Jamey got a nice spanish mackeral and a 3 ft black tip shark...should make good eating. I hooked a BIG shark (had about a 6 inch mullet chunk on my rod) but it cut through the line with its tail (the thing was fairly big...managed to actually drag me towards the open ocean haha). Sunburns were had by all, as well as good times. Not a bad day both fishing and herping-wise. Andy
