I told myself I wouldn't get anymore Borneos....really i did.....

drummagirl Oct 21, 2004 12:28 PM

I even had this really great justification system. A really well thought out, logical reason as to why I didn't need to keep any borneos. I only had the room for a couple of large snakes...so I should focus on the bloods...keep the 'dinkin around' snakes to the smaller species...like the look of the reds better...which all basically amounted to 'Blah Blah Blah' when I saw this little guy Hey, at least I had a plan at one point...right? I mean, come one...those Herpers Anonymous meetings are for quiters!

So, here is the end result of my inability to control myself...

Yes bloodaholic meetings are 7:00/8:00 P.M every TUESDAY night cold blooded scaly friends welcome. As of this very minute I have 4 bloods,4 red tail boa's,7 tarantuala's,2 scorpions and 3 fresh water fish. Not to mention orchids, bamboo's,ferns and cacti that are in my charge.Great way to fall of the wagon.Beautiful looking borneo,I like the light latreral coloring and the bright orange head.I still can't beleive you got a carpet python.they're soo much fun since they like to climb, and are so very different from bloods.I also love seeing them curled up on a branch basking.AHH YES.How many animals do you have now?

drummagirl Oct 23, 2004 08:21 PM

Ha, not nearly as many animals as you....so that means I'm still ok The count right now is 1.2 bloods 1.0 borneo 0.1 jcp anda spastic crested gecko. I did have a bullsnake, but he was traded for the borneo.

Haven't really had the jcp out yet, as I'm still letting her get settled in. She does look very beautiful on her perch though, I'll throw some pics up for ya sometime. I'm debating turning the now-unused 40 gal into a display tank for her..but seeing as i don't intend to keep her for long, i don't know if that would just be a 'waste' of time and money. I really would like to get my hands on a boa one of these days. Currently, I'm just debating if I want to try and adopt a regular bci, or hold out for a bcc....barry miller mentioned he should have some available in the next few months.

later!

Just remember Carole - anything that can live in a 4' Freedom Breeder drawer as an adult isn't a large snake!

He is a stunner for SURE! I'm absolutely envious (can you tell???)...but very happy for you!

Very, very nice score. Keep us posted with pics as he grows up!
