Thanks, Dispute, that's a nice thing to say, lol. I'm actually planning on taking some of the leos I hatch out next season and letting the proceeds go to the local Children's Hospital, because they deserve the money more then I do. Thanks again for the compliments.

Yeah, I wrote that when I had like four geckos, lol. But, now my room is getting pretty crowded and I've actually been looking around at some to buy, but if you have some plans that would be great. And yes, trying to work around parents when all you want is more reptiles is difficult, lol. Oh and as for Danny, yes we were involved, good times.

A blizzard that is het for albino would not be double het blazing blizzard.
Likewise an albino that is het for blizzard would not be double het blazing blizzard.

Each of those animals has one homozygous trait and one heterozygous trait that is being made reference to.

A blazing blizzard is just a name for an animal that is homozygous albino and blizzard. It isn't an actual trait- an animal can't be het for it, only het for the traits that it consists of.

As far as I'm concerned anyway.

You are 100% correct E2..... A leo can not be het or double het for blazing blizzard..... When selling an animal that was produced from a breeding between a blizard and an albino, it would be very missleading to lable it as a het or double het for blazzing blizard..... It is kind of anoying when I see ads for that actually....LOL

Well, I bought them as Double Het for Blazing Blizzard and figured the guy who actually bred them knew more then me since they come from a proven line-- Thus left their name's as they were.

My site says "66% Dbl. Het for Blazing Blizzard", of course meaning they carry the genetics to make a Blazing Blizzard possible. I personally don't view this as "false advertisement", as Gregg basically stated it. Because there is the genetics present to produce this animal and like I said, they come from a proven line of Blazing Blizzard.

What proven line? Who did you purchase from?

Are you certain they are the offspring of blazing blizzards?

It's not false advertising, but it certainly is misleading.

By saying 66% double het for blazing blizzard what are you saying? What are the genetics of this animal?

If the animal is 66% het for albino and 66% het for blizzard, then the odds that it is in fact double het for albino and blizzard (ie double het for blazing blizzard) is even less than 66%

That is just what it said.. Actually they were sold as "het" not double het and the proven line is from Sean Niland of VMSherp.com. He's a great guy to do business with and sells great quality animals. I trust his word. Mine are for the Tremper strain of Blazing Blizzard.

Here is a quote directly from his site about what the normals can and will produce:

"Beginning breeders, or those on a budget, can acquire the less expensive pairs of normals. Breeding these together offers the potential to produce a variety of types:
- Any Albinos produced will prove both adults to be 100% het for Albino.
- Any Blizzards produced will prove both adults to be 100% het for Blizzard.
- If both types are produced, the adults will be proven be proven 100% double het for Blazing Blizzard.
- Any normals produced could be het or possible het for one or both traits, depending on the results above.
- Any Blazing Blizzards are homozygous for both traits."

I hope that helps a bit.
