kaiser berg just hissed at me! he was running around and ran up on my shoulder and when i moved, he opened his little mouth and hissed. so my question is, whenever they open their mouths in that little "i am going to bite you" way, do they always make a noise but i just normally miss it since he and milly are not normally next to my ears or is actual hissing reserved for only special occasions?

** He looks really handsome and healthy Vonnie. **

Ahhhh, the hiss is usually that they are really mad, OR they have been startled and are trying to act BIG and BAD to protect themselves.

When he ran up your shoulder, I'm sure you moved quick and frightened him briefly, so he HISSED !

Mine are all tame, but if I just appear to quick outside their tanks, like if I had been bending down, and stood up fast infront of them, they open their mouths and gape at me, just for a second or 2.

Just until they realize its that .....................

he is really cute, which is the only reason i keep him around ha ha. it certainly is not for his personality. he and milly are so spastic that if i put them in a cage together and hooked them up to wires, they could produce enough energy to heat and light their cage. each collared cage has one calm and one crazy lizard. gotta keep things balanced
