I NEED A RES

proacdave Jun 29, 2003 12:42 AM

I've spent the last three weeks transforming my 100 gal. fish tank into turtle heaven only to realize that all 3 of my local pet stores have stopped stocking them. Wouldn't be so bad but I live in the middle of nowhere (Thunder Bay, Ontario) so it's not like I can even drive anywhere else, nearest city is 8 hrs. Any ideas of a Canadian breeder or store willing to ship a RES would be great. While I'm here, is there room enough in 100 gal. to keep two RES happy for a few years before get around to building that backyard pond?

Your tank will be fine for 2 sub adult/hatchling res for awhile. But if you happen to get 2 adult female res, your tank might be too small. Adult females get to be the size of a dinnerplate....roughly 12 inches.

I don't know any places that will ship out to your area. i wish you luck though.

Do you have any pics of you setup?

Try out the classifieds here. You'll probably find someone willing to ship out to your area.

Try www.turtlehomes.org - they have a Canadian section, I believe, and a link to a rescue in Canada that gets sliders. Adopt before you shop!
