Hi, I'm new.

I've spent a ton of time flipping through corn snake galleries, for sale ads, just looking at pictures of corn snake morphs. While they're all pretty, I have to say normals are my favorite. It's amazing how many differences can exist between them. My question (since I'm totally new to this) is, how can you guess what a normal hatchling is going to look like when it matures?

I just got my first cornsnake yesterday. She's a normal het for blizzard. I picked her because she was the brightest one of the bunch. She seems to be developing some nice red and orange colors. Is that normal for a 4-month old baby? I'm hoping she'll turn out to be one of those nice, bright normals.

But I'd also like to get a normal that has more of a white-ish background with darker red and black saddles. The thing is, it seems like all of the hatchlings start off with that. Do some adults even stay like that or are the colors some kind of transition stage?

Hi, I agree with you i like the normal corn snakes the best and the cool thing about them is you can have ten or more with no two looking alike. I'm sure yours will grow up to be a corn snake that you like the looks of. Good luck with your new baby.

It can be very difficult to predict what hatchling cornsnakes will look like unless you can see the parents.
Even this doesn't always help but it can give you pretty good idea how they will turn out.
It can't grow up ugly so the best thing to do is just enjoy its changes as it grows.
Beleive me, you won't be disapointed.

Nothing beats a good looking normal, or as Jimmy would say "Natural"I like that). Check out some Miami Phase if you like the lighter background. these are also "naturals", and in my opinion, quite beautiful.
