Jumping geckos...

Lucien Jun 29, 2003 03:38 AM

Okay, this was just funny and cute all at the same time... My large male Blizzard, Caine, was on top of his humid hide and I happened to look over there and what do I see.. but a gecko standing straight up on his hind legs, contemplating how far he could jump to reach the screen... He was actually up on his hind legs and balancing like that, it was so cute.. cause eventually he shifted a bit and fell right off.... only to climb back up and do it again...

How funny. The other night my boyfriend and I were on kingsnake I just happend to look into my male(Winky)s tank and he was standing up just staring at us like he was jealous that we were looking at other geckos. He sat there for at least 15 minutes, just watching what we were doing licking the glass. He was so cute just watching were we were going and doing. He is a character, and eating like a pig too. About 10 mealies a night now. I believe his growth spourt hit.

God... only 10 mealies a night? *Chuckles* My 4 hatchlings go through... *thinks* 15 medium mealies a night.. My 2 adults go through at least 20 or so a night plus a few superworms.. I'm working on getting my female back in condition.. she produced 7 clutches for me and its only her first year breeding. Only 3 survived...my 2nd and 3rd clutch and this last one... which I'm waiting to see if I saved it or not. My incubator over-heated.. shot the temp up over 95..it was only like that for about 2 hrs though...then the heating coil died... but thats alright, the ambient temp in my reptile room is right about 82-84 so its fine for the eggs as long as I keep them moist.
