How many females?

cricketscritters Oct 23, 2004 11:03 AM

This question is only for professional bearded dragon breeders. How many females do you have for the next breeding season? I'd also like to know how many babies you produce yearly. I currently have 18 females for the next season, and I know that's too many. However, I'm asking all you so I'll get an average idea of how many I need to breed.
Thanks in advance,
Cricket

HI

I know for a fact that some breeders have between 6-10 females but they have sites tell sell the babies on. Idk if ur going to do that. But each female will lay from 12-32 eggs per cluch. so do the math so u know how many babies u will have but know that not all of the eggs hatch.

Yes, I know how many they can lay. I have a lot more for the upcoming season than I did for this year. I was trying to figure out if I'd be able to handle taking care of so many babies. I have 18 females, I can figure anywhere between 12-24 eggs per clutch, then also figure on multiple clutches from the females. If all 18 lay 5 clutches of 12, that's over 1000. But then again, 15 was my smallest clutch this year.
Sorry, but you really didn't answer the question that I was asking. Thanks anyway,
Cricket
