partially digested mealworms

scrufdog Oct 23, 2004 01:09 PM

I fed my leo 7 mealworms last night. i hadnt fed her mealies for almost 2 weeks, just crickets. So anyway, when i checked her tank today, the mealies were in a partially digested pile. I could about 3 whole ones, 2 parts, a 2 globby leftovers, all in the same....excretion. I checked to make sure the temps in the tank were still ok, and they were, 75 cold side-90 hot side. The only thing i can think of is that maybe I should have left the mealies warm up some, since they came right out of the fridge. Any ideas?

That almost sounds like regurgitation to me.. If it is a stool, then yes.. You should always keep your mealworms unrefridgorated and gutloaded at least 24 hours before feeding. By refridgorating your mealworms, they lose alot of nutritional value. I hope this helps some.
