Just a reminder (or news to some?) that some of our ratsnakes that don't seem to want to eat this time of year will gladly accept smaller prey items. I have always found this to be a handy bit of info and was reminded of it today when my largest, who gulped down two rats in a row last summer, refused a rat fuzzy. A few minutes later, he eagerly accepted two mouse fuzzies. Some won't, and they wind up in the basement or cold closet to "chill" for awhile. They always come back hungry.
