Found tree frog

adimartin88 Oct 23, 2004 03:31 PM

I have a tree frog that I found in a plant I bought from Target. I think it's a gray tree frog but I'm not sure. I've had it since las April. I've noticed lately that something is worng with my frog and since I know nothing about frogs I have no idea what it could be. The weather is getting colder, could my frog be trying to hibernate and I keep waking him up? He's an inside frog now and I keep him warm but he is from the wild. How can I tell if he is hibernating and what should I do to help him hibernate?

If the temps are maintained at 80F during the day and no less that 68F he shouldn't want to hibernate. But sometimes they just haveto. If he's still pretty fat(not real fat, just alittle) but just not eating as usual you probably should hibernate him/her. I just put them in a covered(don't want it to dry out) container with sand, dirt, leaves, moss in that order. Temps 38-55F are fine for this.
