i just got a ball(royal as we call them) five days ago. Do ye find them to be any way aggressive because hes only a foot at the mo but he bit me yesterday. i moved my hand towards him suddenly (i know that's the reason) and he struck my hand about three times. didn't hurt or anything but it caught me by sirprise since he's so placid on my hand etc. i don't need an explanation as to why he struck but i just want to know about the future when he's bigger.

I'd try biting him back. Right now he's testing your authority. Let him know you're the Alpha. Bite him hard; he'll get the point.

Balls bite for 2 reasons, they either think you are food (unlikely) or more often it is a defensive thing. Look at it from their perspective...they aren't too smart and don't know that you aren't going to eat them or step on them...so they bite you. When approaching ANY snake, don't put your hands out in front of its mouth, its just a bad idea. Distract it with something then pick it up from its mid-section...and be gentle. Most won't strike large objects (like your belly), but will strike noses, toes, fingers, etc.
