Question of Paint...

hbluedevilh Oct 23, 2004 07:24 PM

Is spray paint ok for the inside of an enclosure after it cures? I want to make sure before I do anything.

This spray paint I've been looking at gives a rock coloration, which is awsome, they even have terrocota (sp) coloring. It also doesn't go on smooth. It feels ruff to the touch and I think it would be great for the geckos, unless of course spray paint is harmful.

please let me know.

Thanks,

Lu

I wouldn't trust it, but you might be able to get away with coating it with silicon (used for lining aquariums).

Once the paint cures, it is basically inert (say a week). Now if it is given to flake off easily and the gex eat it, then another matter. I paint all my cages inside with either a latex color or a marine varnish. Never had any problem.
