goose1 Oct 23, 2004 11:42 PM

I have three lizards living in my basement. What can I do to make them more comfortable?

It depends on the species. I'm guessing they are good climbers. You could set up a corner with some rocks and a heat lamp over it for them to warm up on. Depending on the house, and the owner, you COULD put some crickets down there, but there might already be enough bugs down there to sustain them, explaining why they are there. This is not a good thing to do if you dont like bugs in the house, but i am used to crickets escaping in my house and running around.. IF the lighting is not fluorescent, they really should have fluorescent lighting down there unless they are nocturnal. If they tame down and let you handle them, you are lucky. However, catching them may make them leave from stress. It all depends on the species. Everyone else will be able to give you better advice, im not too great at all this care of lizards im unfamiliar(sp?) with. Hope it helps, and good luck!

Thanks for your suggestions. I really don't want to tame the little critters-----just don't want to harm them.
