What type of coating is recommended for ¾” plywood, that needs to be high humidity, splash proof and semi resistant to monitor claws?

I think most would recommend lining the enclosure with FRP. There are many types of outdoor paints and such that are pretty durable. I used Varathane Outdoor Classic Clear Spar Diamond wood finish on the enclosure in the Yellow Monitor Photos posted below. It does seem to be 'diamond' hard and durable, of course I gave it many coats. When using oil based paints, make sure that you allow few weeks for the fumes to subside before puting animals in it.

As NE pointed out, there are a range of products you can use. Many attach FRP (fibre reinforced plastic) board to the inner sides of the walls. I use a two part epoxy, made by a company called West Systems, which can be purchased at a boating repair/supply place. It's very water and claw proof

use fiber glass reinforcement panels(frp board)play it safe...although dk uses some pretty brutal boat epoxy...that might work well...still i would say use a laminate....good luck...billy
