Remedy for lack of posts here!

McNasty78 Oct 24, 2004 05:06 PM

Since i have gotten rid of all my non venemous snakes, I come here almost exclusively now. One problem.....NOBODY has ANYTHING to say!! I know that venomous reptiles are not exactly mainstream, and that definitely accounts for some of the inactivity. However, after surfing the other forums and comparing notes.......I belive the reason that the other forums are so much more "busy" is that a LOT of people post PICS of their animals. Seriously it takes up 85% of any given forums posts. Now i wonder......do us venomous guys not have cameras? Are we computer illiterate? What is the problem? I think if we cared about our "hots" as much as everyone else cared about their ridiculously common reptile pets we would have an active forum! Post some pics fellas (gals too)!! Or do you want to just beat the dead "venomoid" horse some more?

p.s. Right now I am attempting to post pics of my absolute favorite venomous snake. The Eyelash Viper.......one problem my digital camera needs to have the batteries charged! hehehe gimme a few!!!

these pics of Rob Carmichael's Rhino viper and white lipped tree viper below but I think nobody cared. I like them even though they are bad pics. Plus I thought it was cool the T. albolabris had a possible parthenogenic birth baby.

Too bad its so hard to get SAFE shots of hots without glass in the way! It really takes away from the picture. But I'd rather see crappy pics than see some goober die tryin to take a good shot of a hot snake lol. My pics (not that they are anything good) were taken with a coolpix 3100 at about 2ft away, with no glass in the way. The snake in the pics is only about 1ft long.

And geing a camera phone it does the snakes no justice either.

and those are GREAT pics for a cell phone lol.

The lack of posts is because 95% of venomous keepers that post hate eachother, and the other 5% (the hardcore guys) don't waste their time here. I didn't post here when I had too many elapids that took up all my time, but since I'm down to a few & I'm bored, I started posting again. Internet sux really, people are much cooler when they are face to face or on the phone. Alot of true diehard keepers would rather people not know what they got (they don't feel a need to brag).

Just mention the word venomoid & you'll get posts....LOL

It is sad that you feel that SHARING your pets with other people is bragging. I for one, do not post pics to brag.....Nor do i think that anyone would be envious of my run of the mill "hot" or picture taking abilities lol. To address your remark about everyone hating eachother in this forum.....I do not think that is true. I think perhaps the SUBJECTS in this forum tend to lean toward ones that end in name calling and childishness. Which is sad. If people would just come here to share their knowledge and appreciate the snakes they LOVE, and IGNORE the forum trolls that start these ridiculous debates, this forum would be a much better place.

It is sad, but that is basically how it is. The venomous community will kill itself soon.

Not negative, just truthful, you'll see.

Sucks that they are all against each other. I for one love to see the pics, and I would like to own many of these animals one day. I dont keep now, but I have posted pics of mojaves that I find in the wild. I dont really get much response but I always hope to stir up a pic posting frenzy or something. I love to see what others have or have found in the wild.
