About 2 months ago, we fed our large ball python his first rat,which he did very well with. We have given him rats since, but not every week. How often should I feed him small rats? We've been rotating each week from mouse to rat. I have a link to his picture, so you can see the size of the snake better. This python has gotten fatter and a bit longer since the picture was taken.

Wow, he seems big to JUST be getting rats. Mine is 2 1/2 ft long, and we've been giving him sm rats for about 1 month, alternating between mice and baby rats before that. I can usually tell when he's hungry because when we pick him up, he stays "tense", about every 7-10 days. I kill them for him, so if he doesn't eat, we can always freeze it for another time.
