Heyo,
Sorry to be a pain, but I would love to see some pics of you guys setups, as I will shortly have a larger cage to decorate for my tegu and dont really know where to go with it short of dumping a load of plastic plants, mulch and logs :S Im pretty new to this landscaping of terraria, so anything you guys could advise would be tremendous.
Many thanks,
Jo

It looks like your tegus have a lot of room...I played with the idea of putting Monaco in a closet once he got bigger. It looks like you have 2 Reds? (sorry, new to tegus!) I was also wondering how well they get along with eachother and if you've had any problems keeping the 2 together? That fat one is a real cutie tho!

Thanks. Actually Stewart, the smaller one in the back corner in those previous pics is a blue tegu, but its hard to tell in those pics. Here's a better closeup of them all.

Both the tegus get along perfectly. They have been housed together for a long time though (see pic below). They also dont mind my bearded dragon hanging out with them, but the dragon usually makes a black beard to let everyone know who is boss.

and here in them 6 months ago.... wow they have grown fast!

hello,
Cool, really cool. I'm a newbie to Tegues and was wondering how long can a adult bearded dragon stay with a tegu (argentine b&w tegu) until the tegu gets big enough to kill or eat the bearded dragon?

Thanks
Eros

Keeping them permanently together, or even for weeks on end could be very dangerous to either animal. There is a parasite issue, and the difference in heating/humidity requirements, and also aggression. Here, he lets them together for i beleive is only part of the day, he has seperate cages.

Nice closet! I bet that door keeps the temps pretty stable. Cute little guys. If I had an extra closet I would borrow your idea...

Here's a shot of my setup. 6'x3'x3', with a 'second story' basking spot and diving platform (I did not plan it as a diving platform, that was their idea; they also use the ramp as a sliding board). Thelitter dam is now twice as high to acomodate a deeper substrata.
