My Own Stupid Question

Unhinged Oct 24, 2004 06:11 PM

I've noticed in the sigs of certain people, they list the current creatures in their care. What I would like to know is all the 1.1 chatter. What are all the digits? What do they mean?
1.1 Hognose, 2.0 House Gecko? Fill me in please.

They designate the sex of the animals. First position is male, second is female, third is unknown or unsexed (often used for juveniles). Example- I have 1.3 African House snakes. That's 1 male and 3 females. If I put 1.3.4 that would mean 1 male, 3 females, and 4 juveniles or unknown sex.
BTW- there's a great glossary link under the Care Sheets/FAQs/Features link at the top of the page under Forums. Explains a lot of herper terms.
Hope that helped!
