Humidity,Air ventilation, air circulation-Ammonia???.

Open up the enclosure and I feel a wave of heat & humidity with a tint of ammonia. Whats wrong?

If I smelled ammonia, I would do a major cleaning. take the animal out , dump the substrate, completely clean the cage and let it air out.
As far as heat and humidity, what does your digital thermometer with humidity gauge say? If the humidity is too high you can always add vents or drill holes to let soome escape.
Since you didn't mention what you are keeping, I have no idea what the levels should be.
