Not enough resolution in the photo to see for sure but I will offer two guesses, in order of diminishing probability...
Black Kingsnake (L.g. nigra)
young peninsular FL Kingsnake (L.g. floridana)

I'm not sure I want popular opinion on my side -- I've noticed those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.

All the snakes I post are eitehr snakes I have owned, or do own or have found in the wild.
Currently I only own my Green Anaconda and Great Basin Rattlers.
I had to give up most my snakes (like the Speckled) last year do to unfortunet cercumstnces. But of course I refused to give up my Conda. She is my baby.

A 4 ft long 3 year old conda? A male maybe? My female was 4 ft at 1 year old. Well, less than a year old really. BUt then if your friends is male then I guess maybe they are smaller at that age too since they dont get nearly the size of the females.
And what are the babies you have? They look like Gophers...but they are Gray? The ones we have here are brown, yellow and pink/red colored. Am I right about the species? Or are they something else?
