need information on children's python and stimson's pythons

Diamondpython Oct 25, 2004 05:24 AM

hi everyone i need as much information on the children's python and tennant creek stimson python. I have read all the care sheets on the net and i am now after someone who has experience with them. I did have a spotted python but i had to give her up to a experience keeper but don't want to get into that.

I have decided to give the children's python and tennant creek stimson python a go but before i buy them i want to get bigger enclosures for the snakes i already have and get some nice enclosures for the children's python and tennant creek stimson python. If your wandering want my Diamond python and Bredli python are in now there in 2ft fish tanks with a made lid with a basking light and attached to a thermostat with 2 hides, branches, some rocks, and a water bowl. I will probably set up the children's python and tennant creek stimson python the same way. Does anyone know if a children's python and tennant creek stimson python will eat rats when big enough i breed rats so even if they can only eat pinkies to fuzzies it doesn't matter. right now i have a 7 month old Bredli that is around the 1ft mark and his been underfed so i need to fatten him up and grow him up to the size he should be at and his eatting pinkie rats. I know the temps for the children's python should be 86f to 90f on the warm side and about 75f to 85f on the cool side is what i read on a care sheet. well better be off thanks in advance bye everyone

Both of my childreni live in 15 gallon tanks quite comfortably, and they are almost full grown. I also have an adult spotted who lives in a 20 gallon tank.

My childreni eat rat fuzzies, and my spotted (similar in size to a Stimsons) eats rat pups/weanlings. They seem to prefer smaller food items, although if there is a larger one around and they are hungry, they may tackle it.

It is always good to plan ahead in terms of caging. Taking into account adult size and needs when you acquire the animal will thwart frustration later on. Best of luck with your collection!

althea
