I know how health problems feel. A lot more then I should at my age. Heck, maybe you and I have had the same problems.

Oh and thanks for the smile that helped me wake up lol.

If you need to talk you can always email me. That goes for anyone and everyone who needs someone to talk to (I need the practice if I'm gonna make it as a cop).

Thanks. I'm going to college now for my Criminal Justice degree. Then I'm going to go to the Police Training Institute for 10-15 weeks then I'm going to be a cop.

I want to work narcotics but usually you are started off as patrol. I hope I have some interesting stories to tell after I become a cop.

Oh I'm sure you will have many stories to tell! It really amazes me the guts of some people the Police bring into the ER. Most of the Police in our city are very large and all these little guys always fight with them. It's very comical. Best of luck, when do you start college?

Triad Oct 25, 2004 03:28 PM

I'm in my 2nd semester as of now.

I took 1 semester of college while still in high school. My high school paid for my classes. I took business and industrial security (elective). When I turn 18 I go to get fingerprinted at the License bureau and send in an application for a PERC, Permanent Employee Record Card, which allows for me to get a job working security. I'm going to work on getting my FOID which allows me to buy a firearm this winter.

Yes, I'm only 40 & I've got degenerating discs. With the cervical fusions I've had, I could really set off the alarms at the courthouses and airports. Right now, all the metal is in my upper back. But they've got a MRI scheduled for me to look at my lower back. Like I said, I've really got problems. I used to work full-time as a heavy equipment operator. All those years of bumpimg & jarring cost me. Now I can't work.
But on a lighter side, I'm not willing to just sit around all the time. All my reptiles have provided me with an escape. I could never imagine my life without them. It gives me something to do, and yes, even someone to talk to during the day.(My husband thinks I'm nuts) They are my children.
Thanks for your support,
Cricket

No problem.

It sucks that you can't work anymore.

I'm 17, and I've have had blood clots in the back of my right knee for abour 5 years. I was on coumadin (aka blood thinners) for a year and a half and just this July they found that the blood clots have dissolved. Now the only thing I have is IBS (which is irritable bowel syndrome which leads ro crohns disease).

About a half year after I turn 18 I get to go in for a colonoscopy to see if I do have crohns or not.

So if you ever need someone to complain to or anything I'll listen, I'm pretty sure we will all listen. This forum is like a tight knit family lol.

Yes, this forum rocks. I love these people. It's amazing at the bond between people that have never met each other.
May the bond of beardies hold us forever together.

Wow that's rough!! My ex brother in law has a morphine pump permanently placed into his back. I'm happy to hear you at least do find some joys in life. These little jems really do help make life enjoyable don't they. Again best of luck to you and I'm very happy you are having a good day! I've had my share of medical problems with myself and my son so I can understand how you feel!

cricketscritters Oct 25, 2004 12:57 PM

Yes, it really sucks being drug dependant. I don't have a morphine pump, but I've been on Percocet for 3 years now. And the beardies really do help. I love taking care of them. Kinda gives me a sense of purpose. And I really love watching them. It's the cute way they cock their head. The way they wiggle to get just into the right basking spot. Oh, I could go on & on. As far as I'm concerned, the only little imperfection they have is the pooh. Golly gee, better check the bottom of your shoes.
It can be potent, sometimes fatal! HaHa
