My pyxie gets hissers occasionally. People use many different species that are easy to breed. I belive the ones they call death's head roaches or something like that are popular.

I have fed Lobster Roaches to Pyxies. Hard to get the tree frogs to eat them without escapes. I like to feed them to animals that hand feed.

Haven't we warned you about tampering with the structure of a chaotic system?

i also feed lobster roaches for my pixie...a normal feeding for him is 10 roaches, 2 crickets and 1 superworm...i also give him goliath hornworms and nightcrawlers
Gutloader...
I see you feed like I do...a smorasbord of food to keep the diet varied. I do this with all my herps.
Have you had any issues with the horned worms?
We were discussing these catepillars farther down the page.
I may order some this week.
I breed lobster roaches with a friend of mine. They are far superior to crickets. They will eat anything. They don't smell. Also they don't seem to die so quickly. Plus they are a heartier meal for my frogs. I feed half grown ones 3/8 to 1/2 an inch to my firebellied Toads. The adults I hand feed to my White's Tree Frogs. The best thing is that you can gut load them with anything. Dog Food, powdered milk for calcium.
Just Love 'em
I would recommend not using powdered milk as a food item for any insects that are fed to amphibians. There is strong anecdotal evidence that is caused problems like corneal lipidosis.
Also high calcium diets do not due the frog any good unless you supplement with D3.

i think the problem is with wild caught tomato hornworms because the tomato plant is toxic and this can kill your herp...i get them from herpfood.com..they're fed a mulberry mix...i feed them to my jax cham and the pixie.
i try to offer different items with roaches being the staple food....i just figure that if i was fed a ham sandwich and a glass of water every day i wouldn't be very healthy
