Is she gravid??? Help Please!!

gmagecko Oct 25, 2004 08:03 AM

OK...I blew it.We werent sure if we had a male and female yet. (they are almost 4 months)Unfortunately..they did!! I posted that they were locking tails and rolling and was told to seperate ASAP.We immediately put them in 2 seperate cages.I am worried she might already be preggo.I can seem to find how long from conception to eggs.we feed silkies and mealies and we are encouraging extra feedings with calcium till we know for sure...how else can I help her.I re-weighed her last night and she is 30.3 grams. What now!!
How long till I will see signs if she is preggo...
How can I get her to eat more or bulk her up in case...
Is our little lady going to be OK????
OK I admitt it...these geckos were for our son(10 yrs) and he has busted his butt taking care of them.He is a fanatic w/ gut loading the "Proper" foods to the worms. He cleans the cage and treats his "buddies" like royality...but they have wormed their way into our hearts w/ those funny little grins and curious nature...Please help us help this little lady!

Theres not much you can do now, except use lots of calcium. It will probably take about two to three weeks for her to show signs of being gravid. You will see bulges on her side back before her hind legs, you can also flip her over and you might be able to see if you can see the eggs developing, this does not always work though. Make sure you have a nest box also so she some where to lay them. good luck
