Issey's vet visit

moko Oct 25, 2004 12:21 PM

Sadly, Issey will have to have his lower rear leg amputated. He has an infection in his knee and the leg is dislocated. It can not be relocated and so the poor thing won't have to drag around a worthless leg for the rest of his life. . .I think the injury may have happened when he jumped out for his cage and fell about four ft. Issey will probably have his surgery tomorrow.

The other issue of his not eating is more of a mystery, but they said he didn't look too bad for a force fed lizard. I think it has something to do with how many generations have been captive bred. Our bearded is so content to be where she is and she eats like a pig. Beardeds being bred for many generations with the more docile ones surviving.

I'm really really sorry to hear about Issey! I'm sure he's gonna feel so much better once recovered though... maybe he'll feel so much better, that he'll feel like eating!

You guys will be in my thoughts!

for him tonight and tomorrow, , such a shame. But they do well without their limbs, and they manage to continue to thrive.

Wish you well also, I know you are feeling bad too!

But your a good person to have all this done for him, so that he can live with out pain. God Bless ya !

PLEASE let us know after , how he is! Thanks,

Take care,

I am so sorry about Issey; I'll be thinking of him AND you today. Issey is really a lucky lizard, he has a wonderful human who loves him and takes care of him!
