My wife figured out how to post pics on this forum. We are dancing. Now in a few years she'll figure out the multiple pic post. I'm afraid it's too late for me-nobody can "dumb it down" enough.

90x24x171/2", (2)11x29" Ultratherms on left side underneath linoleum controlled by A-life therm (95 degrees,)3/8" air gap on bottom of cage doors. Joints sealed with aquarium sealant and wood sealed with spar urethane. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't use the spar for the inside, but I think she'll be fine-since this pic I have drilled 20 3/16" holes in the upper right side for more ventilation which I'll cover when she's in shed. I'd say the whole project cost me around 375 dollars, but could be done for a whole lot cheaper if you use cheaper plywood and sand more, and get linoleum from scrap from somewhere (linoleum killed me at Home Depot-50 bucks.)Took me about a month. Wife unit is glad to have her car back in the garage.

Though it cost you 375 and time for that size you wouldnt be able to buy any made cage in that size for twice that money atleast. Not to mention shipping.
Not to mention great looking cage.

Tell me it's crappy if you want to. I can take it! My first picture post!

I got a phone call to go look at a house and when I got back and hit the "post message" button my login had expired.

At any rate, good job. Spar urethane typically is not worth the trouble or the cost compared to other options. Let us know when you build your next cage and maybe we can come up with something better.

What type of plywood is that?

At least that's what it said on the sticker. It cost about 10 bucks more per sheet that the standard 3/4 plywood, and it was really light colored and flawless and straight. Home depot. Thanks, by the way.

How large is the boa in the home built? (I didn't see it when looking at your other post)

Nothing succeeds like excess! Maybe I'm dreaming, but I hope she'll reach the 8 foot mark someday and be about 25-30 pounds. This will be her LAST cage! One large rat every 15th and 30th.
