could my little guy be stressed??

persifunctant Oct 25, 2004 03:10 PM

I just recently aquired a water dragon. I've had him for about two weeks now, and he isn't eating much. I know that I have correct temp/humidity, and he's very active and not lethargic.

I was wondering if it had anything to do with the time of the year (it's rather chilly up here in canada, no snow, but soon), or maybe he's stressed out? Although he doesn't seem to be stressed...

I'm also very afraid of mouth rot. Is it very common for them to get it? and if so, what's the easiest way that I can prevent it?

He's three years old, and his growth is stunted because he was owned by someone else before me. I'm just rather concerned, and a bit worried.

Thanks for any input you might have!

It helps to give a little bit more info such as tank size, temp highs and lows and such. How long have you had him? During a big move any dragon is going to get stressed. Make sure his enclosure has plenty of visual barriers, and cover most of the tank with a dark cloth so he can relax. Do not handle him in order to keep his stress levels down.

Hope some of this helps!
