my brand new hatchling crestie can't climb up glass he slides then falls...i thought these guys could climb glass and even sleep on it...is something wrong or do they learn this as time goes on?

Your crestie is most likely going through shed, if this persists for a few days check its toe pads and make sure there is no retained shed.
