I bought these as a group 3yrs ago only because they appeared to be unusual then I got rid of them because they wouldn't put on length. Any comments/opinions are welcome

normal

amel, and thanks for looking

I think someone bred a corn to another snake (maybe a ratsnake) and then used the one hybrid and bred it to pure corns. That would explain the albino and hypo. Otherwise it would take a het to het breeding to create amels and hypos which if it was done, is more difficult and we would have heard something of this hybrid cross. Instead somebody chose to take the easy way and breed the one hybrid back to corns. I have seen this done and they look like that would be the case, which makes them 1/4 mystery snake.
I have no idea what the corn could have been crossed with. Maybe a everglades rat? That would explain the nice red colors.
Jet,
Gotta tell you. If I would have had them I would have held onto them. Beautiful snakes.
These were sold to me as pure bred corns, but i bought them because they looked totaly different from the rest, they were super, super tiny but stout with huge heads, they had a great feeding response so great all they did was eat, lol. Anyway I had to make room for new arrivals.
Maybe they didn't like the smell of your hands. just kidding!
misread your post, they liked to eat... they loved your hands then-sorry
Thats alright I get it a lot worse in the kingsnake forum, lol. BTW about how much $ do those everglades-X-holbrooks go for? I'm not trying to buy one yet just curious.
They used to eat in my hand all the time. They were great snakes except they wouldn't put on length and they got way too fat. Then I started getting new stuff and had to make room. It was a bummer cause I raised them from way tiny,oh well. no kidding, lol.
