Austin Stevens

Hi,
I was just reading some of yall's threads on Austin Stevens...(I guess yall are sick of talking about him by now...sorry) anyway, I never even heard the term venemoid until I started reading here. (forgive my ignorance)
Do yall think that all of those snakes that he found in Florida on the last show were set up? This is very disappointing to me if it is true...the Diamondback rattler that he found in the water? When he brought it to land, he let it go between his legs...are yall saying this is because it was devenomized? Is that a word? Do yall think that they find the snakes and then set it up to be like he just came upon it?
I don't know if I can watch anymore if they are set up like that...and I love watching shows on snakes...except I can't watch them eat, lol...guess it's a female thing...anyway, thanks for your time...

400mg of toxins injected into their testicles..as I stated below. I really doubt he found that snake floating alongside the beach, give me a break. That was bogus and I dont care that it was a planted animal..thats for education. But as far as using a venomoid and talking about his big mistake he almost made by letting it go between his legs..thats bs. Nobody (not even Austin Stevens) would be that careless to nearly sit on the snakes head.

I don't really think the idea of planting the animals is all that bad. How many times have you gone out and found the animal you were looking for? The whole show would be searching for one animal if they didn't plant any.

Hate to burst your bubble, zoolady, but all of the shows do it.
I have worked with some of the programs, & I have friends who have done a lot of work for several of them.

BTW, venomoid & de-venomized mean the same thing, with the former being more correct.

I surfed onto that show, and when I realized it was focused on Florida I watched it. The entire time I was thinking to myself: idiot...you're looking in the wrong terrain for EDR. They love Saw Palmetto thickets and areas we call black sugar sand. Sure, once in awhile you'll find one swimming from key to key (No, not *the* Florida Keys...we have little keys all over the Tampa Bay area), but it's not "the norm".

Now I'm not a hot herp keeper. I'm simply 5th generation of seven generations Florida Cracker, and I was raised catching hots or anything else my daddy and I could find for fun. I've encountered EDR's around salt water, but they usually tend to be pretttttty aggressive.

No one's going to convince me that show wsn't 99% BS.

Color me unimpressed with this bozo.
