Looking into getting a lizard...

athos_76 Oct 26, 2004 03:26 AM

I've kept snakes and turtles for years, but have never thought about lizards, until I ran into pics of the armadillo lizard (cordylus cataphractus), but while doing research on them, I can't find much... all the info points to Cordylus tropidosternum. Not what I want.
Now I've heard armadillos are hardy... which one? Tegus and monitors get too large for me to handle and own in Miami... until I get my own house. I have a good supply of insects and veggies due to my turtles... what do you all think?
What lizard would be good? No geckos or skinks... and anoles are a no go, I feed the browns to my snapping turtles when I can catch em

IF you are looking for something of any size, uromastyx species, water dragons, or basilisks sound good. Maybe an iguana. I thought the armadillo lizards were cool too, but i couldnt find any info on them either. Good luck on your decision!
