Published Works?

herperboy Oct 26, 2004 10:02 AM

I am a 10th grader at a private high school, and we have to do a research paper. I decided to do mine on ball python genetics and morphs. I wanted to use alot of the information from NERD, but my teacher says she wants published works. So my question is: Does anyone know of any published work (book, online, etc.) on ball python genetics and/or morphs? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

breed more morphs, keeps more morphs, sells more morphs and has more expernence with ball python genetices than anyone I can think of I'd tell your teacher that the info on there website is "published info"

By: Stefan Broghammer of Germany. I have the 1st addition and it shows some of the morphs, but I guess there is an update addition that is more up to date as far as morphs go.

As far as I know, there might be one magazine article by Bob Clark about his albino ball pythons. And maybe one or two in Reptiles Magazine about ball python morphs. But I don't remember when.

I checked on the ball python book cited in an earlier post. Amazon says copyright date is 1997, so apparently there has not been an update. And 1997 is pretty dated as far as the genetics goes.

I've not see the Bartlett book, but I have seen a number of snake genetics web sites. Separating the genetics from the pseudogenetics requires some training in genetics which I didn't have when I was in 10th grade.

If this is for an English class, IMHO the object of the exercize is for you to learn how to learn to find material in the library and organize it. Ball python genetics is so narrow that very little has been published. I would recommend changing to a subject that has more material in the books and magazines in the library. Sorry to rain on your parade. Good luck.

its for a speech class and the basis of the project is research. So i am guessing since info is so few and far between that i've got my work cut out for me.
