WTF diet...

marty1 Oct 26, 2004 12:53 PM

Hello! I recently commented with respect to the diet of my WTF. Before, he would only eat roughly a couple crickets per week. He wasn't too skinny, but at the same time wasn't near the weight of WTFs I've seen in pictures. Anyhow, starting a week or so ago, he's been eating like CRAZY. He doesn't seem to be satisfied with 4-5 crickets in one meal. I've been also giving him earthworms when I can get the time to go diggin', and I was just wondering if I should maybe look into pinky mice, mealworms, silkworms, or anything else? Or maybe just restrict his diet? Why would his appetite all of the sudden become so huge?

Hey Marty, You should offer a varied diet. All that youve mentioned above would be great for treats with crix as a staple. How old is he/she? maybe its finailly started to grow. Nother possability is the weather change... it might be getting ready for burmation or simply just less stressed thus eating regulairly. If you have anymore ques feel free to ask gl

well from what i experienced with my whites tree frogs, they wil eat just about anything you put in the tank. I usually give them crickets that are feed on fruits in a 20 gallon tank i have set up. So they are loaded with vitamins. I also noticed they'll eat slugs. Earthworms are a good choice but like the other response noted, variety is the best way to go b/c each thing you feed will offer some nutrients the other won't offer. So your best bet is to mix it up.
