Antaresia maculosa ???

ohannah Oct 26, 2004 05:32 PM

Hi everyone

I need your opinion. I bought a pair of Spotted Pythons at Maryland reptile expo in USA in 2000 (I live in United Arab Emirates).

As 4 years passed by I start to doubt if I have a pair of Antaresia maculosa or another Antaresia or different species at all. I know, male’s photo is not very clear due to light, I’ll try to take another one, but at this time can anyone of you please confirm the identity of my pair?

Many thanks in advance,

PS: please note the bump on the back of the male. It's been there since the last 2-3 years. What could it be?

It would be most helpful if you can supply close up picts of the top head scalation of each. My understanding of the complex is different scalation for each species.
