Just thought I would post some pics of my Kings.........

Hotshot Oct 26, 2004 07:57 PM

To start off, how about a pic of my female '03 KY locale black king. She has really started to put on the size in the last few months. She was so tiny for a long time....

And a pic of my '03 KY locale prairie king. He was the same way, just a tiny little bitty guy, but has really taken off this year. He has actually outgrown my black king!!!!!....

And here is a pic of my female '02 coastal phase cal king. She has some amazing yellow on her, and I am hoping to breed her next year to my male....

And here is my male '00 cal king. He is growing into quite a whopper for a cal king. Would be nice if my female could attain this size!! He is not nearly as vivid as my female, as he is just a normal coastal phase. But the size makes up for the lack of "pretty" colors!!!

And lastly my little '04 male desert king. Been wanting one of these for a little while as well.

In the future I hope to add a speckled, an eastern, and maybe a florida!! And Im sure there will be others as well, you all know how that goes!!! LOL

Thanks for looking.....
Brian

All your snakes are looking good Brian. That female '02 coastal phase cal king you have is just stunning. Also love your Prairie King. That's another group of snakes I could really get into, prairie kings and mole kings.

Thanks Steve
Im hoping my female cal stays this bright throughout her life. I know when they get older they tend to darken. But my male wasnt near this yellow at her age, so Im hoping it is a good sign. If all goes well I will try to breed them and see what kind of babies they throw.

The prairie came from a clutch from Todd county KY. The female was being rehabbed after getting her jaw broken by an uneducated person holding her head too tightly. She laid eggs and they were hatched. He is growing quite well, was a picky eater at first, would only eat live pinks. Has since been switched over to F/T and no looking back!!!!

Nice animals. I really like your prairie king and the nice yellow cal king. Do your black kings turn solid yellow (excluding the belly of course) in KY ? Never had any black kings.

Thanks Zee!!
The black kings here in KY are pretty much all black with trace amounts of yellow here and there. A pretty mellow snake, usually they dont bite when caught out herping, same as the prairies, but you do get the occasional biter.

Do the (King)snakes turn solid black where you live, that was what I meant to ask. But thanks - I already got my answer from you anyway! LOL!
