a 50 gallon terrarium is suitable (that's the smallest size I'd go with, bigger is better of course
).
150 watt heat bulb, a red light bulb that heats the tank up at night.
Deerfernfarms.com is a good place to get any uro from.
Suggested substrate varies for size of uro you are getting. If getting a baby then newspaper, or paper towel. If you are getting an adult or juvenile then washed playsand, sand/soil mixture or bird seed w/out sunflowers is acceptable.
Feeding: mixed greens such as collard, mustard, endive, escarole. Mixed frozen vegetables such as peas, sometimes carrots, green beans are good.
Dust with calcium dust and d3 powder or miner all and calcium dust every other day.
Give some cricketts once a week is good.

2 mali uro's-Ares and Apollo
2 saharan uro's-Orion and Iris
2 bearded dragon-Hades and Draco
1 leo gecko-Kalypso
1 tokaye gecko-Sid Vicious
1 tarantula-Peter Parker
1 dog-cheeka
1 zebra finch-beeps
1 african gray parrot-keya
1 red headed parrot-pancho
And some fish
Doug Dix at www.deerfernfarms.com and Lindsay Pike at www.urotopia.com are the two most commonly recommended breeders.
If you go with a 50 gallon cage, make sure it's a breeder style otherwise the tank is too narrow for an adult Mali. If you get a little guy, then it's ok to start out.
Let us know what you get!

2.0.1 Uromastyx Dispar Maliensis (Tank, Turtle, and new neighbor Spike)
1.2 Anolis Carolinensis (Bowser, Leeloo, and Sprocket)
1.1 African Dwarf Frogs (Bruce and Sheila)
1.0 Betta Splendens (Mr. Miagi)
1.1 Felis Domesticus (Roscolux and Jenny)
And several miscellaneous community fish

I concur. Lindsay and Doug.
I have been using a 40 gallon breeder and it has worked wonderfully up to the last year... and my Uro just turned 8. As a point of reference.
If you have the ability/skills/desire to build a cage I think it is a lot easier to care for the lizards with cages that open from the front instead of from the top. That is just my preference though.

I have posted this before but here is a link to an article I wrote on cage size selection.
Just my thoughts on the subject.
