how big should a 10 month old CRB be?

bonniejoe Oct 27, 2004 07:05 PM

i am receiving a CRB on saturday, (getting him/her from a co worker)
i went to take a look at her, and she seemed so small for one that age?
what would u say the average size should be for one that is supposed to be 10 months, and how thick?
thanks for any replies

...Colombian Rainbow Boas are 13 to 17 inches long at birth. If they are fed well they will grow around an inch per month. So a typical healthy 10 month old one should be around 23 to 27 inches long. If they are fed just enough to survive they will grow very slowly. Oftentimes young Rainbow Boas that have been fed sparingly and grown slowly will be perfectly healthy and will start growing at a normal rate as soon as you start feeding them enough. Are you sure the snake is 10 months old? Most CB Colombian Rainbows in the northern hemisphere are born in the late spring and summer.

Thanks very much for the info,
i hope she is actually younger than that, if she was born in spring or summer,
i will in any case beef her up
thanks again

wow
maybe this one isn't fed enough, although he says he gives her two to three fuzzies a week, which i find hard to believe going by her size.
or maybe she is just a runt.

well i'm not an expert, i just know from what i herd and experienced, but when i got mine they told me to feed him one small mouse a week, and he was only 6 months old at that time and he ate those with east he's now up to adult mice and back when he was 8 months i did ask in here what the right size was for him because back then he was 30 inches and they told me that they grow aproximitly 1-2 inches a month if you keep him on a good diet so mine is groing at average the 2 inches a month maybe slightly less but not much so it does seem ok what yours is doing to me as well

My little girl is 14 months old and measures almost as long as my leg from the hipbone to the foot. My inseam is 34 inches, so I'd put her at just about four feet long.

Of course she's in shed right now, so I'll just try to measure her later in the week if she can actually stay still long enough to be measured, that is.
