Okay, I'm pretty new to this and I haven't gotten down the different markings on these two...I am interested in any feedback on them.

once again I need assistance on her markings. I am very interested in hearing what anyone has to say about what morphs they are.

I love the Chocolate! (brown?) I know nothing about colors but that is that I will call him/her. You other one looks almost pink in some way, salmon?

Nice photo.

thank you very much. As far as the pictures go, I cannot take credit for that. A friend of mine who is a master in training on taking pictures took them for me.

How about "aspiring"... I can be ok with that term. Master? *shakes head*

I need a better camera and a whole [bleep]load of practice to get even close.

Too funny.

well, there are some rules you're expected to follow in posting in the forums, and while i am not a forum moderator or anything close, im pretty sure that most forums like this have something to say about profanity in the terms of service. im sure they're just trying to keep the forum suitable for people at all age levels and help maintain the forums credibility, because people would not likely take seriously information they gather from a forum littered with expletives. blah im not going any further!

I know... I guess I was just typing blindly and didn't really think about it. I found it humerous to say the least. Now I know better. *slaps my own wrist*

Thank you Devil for your comments. I'm just going to say one thing. Despite of whatever kind of reputation you have, I notice you do post on here a lot and seem to be here a lot longer then some. Bottom Line, you have had your Geckos I'm sure longer then a month...I'm more inclined listen to what you have to say.

From what I've read, young Crested's should not be bought strictly for the color that they have...reason is, is because they are subject to change. I've read many times that color in babies are not guarenteed (sp?) Obviously, I'm not a breeder, nor do I plan to.(leave that to the "experts" Nor am I an expert by any means.

Buckskin makes sense...is there like a "brindle" patterned Crested's? Or is that concidered Buckskined? In any event I appreciate your feedback.

as many others will make, if you relly gain interest in the species or the genus rhacodactylus in general, buy the books. theres both a crested geckos in captivity pamphlet and a rhacodactylus book, i have both and each has its own special parts. if anything, the pictures in the books are amazing, and they give you a fairly good explanation of coloring and morphs in the two printings.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. The extent of my knowledge is based on what I've read online and not from a book...unfortunately.

I am so excited about my new critters that I wanted other's opinion that may have a "more trained eye" then I do.

Thank you very much!

Have a great day

Hi,
I'm fairly new around here myself, but if you're still interested in opinions, I'd say your geckos look great. I own a buckskin (or normal) myself--and I think she's one of the nicest animals in my ever expanding reptile collection. I also own two "normal" phase leopard geckos, and it's because I think they're natural color is interesting in its own right. I think the disdain people seem to have for the natural coloration of reptiles is a little ridiculous. Considering we didn't even know rhacs even still existed a little over ten years ago, it would seem to put the squabbling over their color in some kind of perspective, but I guess not.
That said, I'd like to point out that (as was mentioned earlier it seems) even within the buckskin morph there is a very wide range of variety. In its excited phase my buckskin will turn almost orange, and among her siblings, she was the lightest of the bunch. Yours seem to have a good deal more striping or flaming--hard to tell from the pic--than my normal phase.
Good luck with them--I just bought a new bicolor today.

Kudos to you! And thank you very much for your thoughts and feedback.

What you said about the buckskins...I'm inclined to agree with you. There are different patterns and variations for buckskins...even the "normal" ones. That being said, it is hard for me to "classify" the markings.

Granted, my little ones are only about 2.5 months and probably still prone to change (color wise). However, I haven't read too much on whether the markings are permanent or subject to change.

Regardless of normal or morph or just plain weird; what sets this particular "lizard/reptile" from other lizards/ reptiles IS personality. I find myself comparing them to dogs to people that have never heard of a Crested Gecko (I'm probably gunna hear it from that statement).

Thank you very much for your comments. Once again, Kudos to you!
