alright, my egg has not hatched yet but in case it does, i thought it would be nice to know the next steps. what exactly should i be doing once s/he is out of the egg? like how long should i leave it in the incubator? should i wash him off? wil he look at me and say "mama" it took me forever to get one out of an egg and i do not want to mess anything up, if it actually hatches

Do you have a PINK or BLUE outfit laying out ?

A nice warm snug blanket ready to wrap him/her in?

plenty of formula/ little buggies

A NAME ready for the birth certificate?

A camera ready to take great shots for us to see?

Now, you would leave him in incubator for a few hours until you see hes getting around quite well.

* No, you dont wash him, he is BRAND NEW and clean !
Just put him into a small tank, uvb light very important and basking. NO SAND this little, paper towels work great.

And they usually do not eat for awhile you know that from hearing my last experience. Although most of the time is within a few days.

DO however offer water from an eyedropper, hatchlings dehydrate fast.

Oh and then just enjoy the new baby LOL

i don't really have names picked out. i still have to look those up. my 26 year old sister is still insisting on nemo since this is my only egg to make it (for those of you who have seen finding nemo, you should understand this reference)but maybe that will be his middle name or something

I have never been in a big hurry to name them. After watching them for a while and seeing their personality, their names have all just come to me. The newest baby has been named "Cadence".

well i will definitely have to wait till i find out the sex which takes a while so like the uro i just bought, this egg will probably be called boogsey and baby till i find out the sex. however i have been calling the uro "little h" because its name will either be hugo or hilda. also all my lizards have a two syllable name that i call them (walter, ivan, milly, kaiser and helga) but then they all have longer full names (like walter segundo, ivan the girl, silly milly (or millicent when she bites me), kaiser berg and madam helga turtlehead)

as to "little h"
What about Heinrich? I don't know, it seems like it would fit with helga. Of course, this is all riding on whether or not he is a "he". I always wanted to call a Uro Heinrich......don't know why. anyway, Just a kooky thought.

heinrich is a cute name. i will have to think about it. maybe you need to get a uro then you could have heinrich
