wever had our BP for approx 1 1/2 years, she's been through mites, a bad burn ( from a heat pad without thermostat..i know stupid) and finnaly she seemed fine and healthy.
ive recently started feeding her rat pups , one on sunday then again on tuesday as she seemed hungry again...
last night she was attacking the top screen and glass as tho hungry yet again.. now this snake has always been a regular 1 - 2 feeds a week and has never been a bitey snake
is it the change of diet ? or do you think its just building up its strength for winter. any replys would be welcome

Well let's see,
1) maybe it wants to just come out and play
2) it saw its reflection in the glass and got pissed off
3) it's that time of the month or year or season
4) just wanted to do something different
5) it thought you might post something on Kingsnake.com
6) those ribs you had for dinner looked better than rat

Really, who knows. LOL The snakes brain is so small that it couldn't possibly formulate a thought or try to grab your attention by actively doing something. Generally agrression is defensive and instinctive and probably at the same time. Just keep feeding it and make sure its enclosure is maintained.

thanks.. it was doing the same thing again last night so i decided to try a small adult rat instead of a rat pup and it took it no problem... so i guess it really was still hungry.

as for not being able to get my attention by doing something... my bp actually Points to the top of the tank, it sits on the top branch with its head straight up..as though " hey u left the food up there" lol..weird but it works
