As to how many morphs (by that I mean animals showing peculiarities produced by being homozygous for simple recessive traits, or heterozygous for co-dominant traits) there actually are, I'd say somewhere around 60 or so, but it could be more than that without too much trouble.
As to your second question, the answer is no, you do not have to broumate your snakes if you are not breeding them. In fact, you don't even have to do so if you ARE breeding them. Many folks do not brumate their corns, and yet they produce clutches every year. On the other hand, some people do brumate their animals (assuming they're healthy enough) just so they can cut back on the feed bill for a few months.
