SUPER PASTELS

XtremeXteriors Oct 28, 2004 11:06 PM

I have a pair of pastels that by next breeding season will be ready to breed provided my female keeps eating the way she is (3 small-medium rats every 10-14 days),she is currently 800 grams and i think i can have her weight at least doubled by next year but what i want to know is, would it be smart to just breed for super pastels and pastels and try to become the main supplier of super pastels on the market, seeing how this is the dominant gene and the possibilities are endless, or try to dabble in a little of everything (ghosts, albinos etc.)will there still be a demand for super pastels in the upcoming years???

You may want to rethink your breeding scheme.

Its not going to be easy being the main supplier of supers when you only have 1 pair.........

But to answer your question, shoot for the cross that you like the most. If you like supers, then make supers. If you like pastel ghosts, then make those.

yeah you only have one pair and she is only going to breed once a year if you are lucky. and i would just go with the super pastel since you already have two pastels. Unless you want to fork out some serious cash and get a ghost or whatever that is going to be able to breed by next year

Stick with making a super pastel. Once you have a super pastel it greatly increases the odds when mixed with other morphs since all offspring from a super pastel will be pastel. This way you'll know for sure you have a pastel het (insert morph here), or a bumblebee etc.
