Help Me Identify This Morph

InvisibleMarker Oct 29, 2004 04:07 AM

Hey, I just got a new baby. My only other gecko is an African Fat-tailed, (dark brown and light brown banded,) so i'm not to farmilar with the other colors and patterns. I was hopeing you guys could help me determine the morph of this new juvie. I looked up some morphs, but I wanted another opinion since he/she seems to be a mix.

What morph is that little cutie?

There's one at a pet store ( a good store) that'd I wanna get. Only it's got a circle on its back towards the left and the circle goes down its left side.

It's the same color as that one you posted, and has dots and stuff same tail and everything.

I think your right about the Hypo Tang. He/she is pretty orange in color. the other 3 babies at the store had circle backs. This one has 2 cicles one below the hand and one ablove the tail, but neigther of the circles have any spots around them.

Just a comment to add, he/she or "Autumn" Is doing well. He/She ate 3 mealworms the day I got her, and when I went to feed her yesterday there was a little "present" in the tank for me. Since then I gave 3 mealworms and 1 waxworms and Autumn ate 2 of the meals and the wax. He/she is sleeping in the day and the other day I was up late and Autumn was running cruising around the tank and walking up the corners.

He is not technically a Leopard Gecko, Mike is a couson species called African Fat-tailed Gecko. They have the same care needs, but they are less colorful.(dark brown, with light brown bands)

Mike there is full grown, i've had him for about 6 years and I think he is about 8 because he was full grown when I bought him. Sadly I had some problems with humimity and sheding in the past so he is missing some of his fingers, you might notice in the picture.

I personally like the African's a little better. They are just so cute ^^ The only problem with buying on is that almost all the African Fat-tails you will find in your petstore are wild caught. They aren't too popular yet, so there arn't many captive breeders. I have thought about breeding them, but I live in Alaska, so their arn't to many homes for them anyway, and I haven't seen any good females. They also cost around 60 bucks. >.< I just bought a juvie leo for like 20 bucks though..

Anyway, I'm glad you like him. He is really sweet but hard to photograph because he is so dark.
