What determines if an animal is a burgundy or not? I have had 3 wild caught female adults since this past Feb that look alot like the Burgundies that people have posted here recently. What are the markers for this morph? Thanx in advance!

Hey Randy, please post some of your pics, I have been wanting to see some burgandy colored ones for a while now. Thanks Andy
I am interested to know of any possible markers myself.
Ive got one big girl that looks promising.
One thing about her that is different, she has very faded sides.
Which lightens as it nears her belly, which is patternless.

I've seen alot of people who think they have burgundies. I lucked out with my big girl. She has NO black! It's all a light brown. A burgundy is a form of hypo or ghost. When they shed you'll know if you have a burgundy or not because the shed will be clear if it is. You don't need to breed it to prove it out. I'll know in a few more weeks.

I'm not sure what exactly would be required to call an animal
a burgundy. In my mind, they are an animal that has no black
and instead have a redish/brown instead. I don't know that they
necessarily have to shed clear or not. I think the pic below
is probably one of the best ones I could have taken showing
off this female's colors... Let me know what you think.
Enjoy!

Hopefully, she proves out this year.

I really like the looks of her,and i am sure she looks better in person than in a pic.
So,who was her mate this year?

Unfortunately...she's not the best of eaters.
I would like her to be fatter before breeding.
If she is ready, I will breed one of her sons back to
her to prove, or disprove her. Wish me luck!
