Question about clean-up

aliaime Oct 29, 2004 02:55 PM

Sometimes the snake releases itself right next to where it is curled up. How do you remove the smell from the snake?

just use a washcloth to wipe the snake down. Thats what I do if one of mine gets dirty. also, usually i give mine a bath every couple of weeks. some of mine really like the water.

I dont reccommend you to do it without more info. some snakes get a little freaked if they have never had a bath before. just warmish water (not hot, or too cold) no soap or anything. new snakes i usually hold in my hand and just kind of sink them underwater a little at a time. dont let the water get too cold. a few minutes is all they need. if doing it in a sink (for a baby ball) i suggest using the bathroom sink after cleaning and rinsing really well (that is rinse the sink really really well). after your snakes bath, you can let him/her 'run through' a towel (you dont have to dry them, off though). and be prepared, i have a big girl that craps exactly 5 minutes after her bath. (something about the warm water) also dont forget to wash the sink or tub out really good after.
