What should I do with gravid female?

MrLizardTX Oct 29, 2004 11:54 PM

Bunny is my 12 ft albino. Her mate, Silk, is albino lab. Although I haven't seen them mate in months, I think she's getting close to laying some eggs. I say this because she is huge and just refused food. She isn't in shed, so there was no reason for not to eat. Two years ago, she laid 34 eggs. I tried to incubate the eggs myself, but none survived. The eggs appeared furtile even though her mate at the time was only about 18 months old. I'm considering letting incubate her eggs herself. Any suggestions?

Make a 2 foot square out of 2x6'es place spaghnum moss(spelling)in your square and keep very damp.Do all this before she lays and she should pick this spot to lay. Keep temps 85 to 88 and moss very wet at all times. You may want to mist snake, eggs and moss every day and even place plastic over them to cut down on evaporation. Other wise, leave the mother and eggs alone. Don't try to feed or anything like that. This should work for you. Sean
