Anery or Axanthic triv's

trivirgata Oct 30, 2004 12:58 PM

What opinions does everybody have on the the "blue triv's"? Are the anery or axanthic? Below are cut and paste from a dictionary page of the definition of the two. Triv's are yellow and black, not red and black right? In my opinion, they are lacking yellow pigment, not red. The two definitions below are pertaining to having red and having yellow pigment. Opinions? My opinion is that they are axanthic.

interesting pics. i noticed that you had anery offspring this last season but the unfortunantly things took a bad turn. i have been looking to get ahold of a rosy boa like an el rosario, their burgandy is killer, but anerys are just plain awsome looking. if you produce any this next season and are willing to let any of them, could you let me know a price on them? you can email me at flargmaster@yahoo.com . thank you very much hope to hear from you soon.

anery or axanthic can be used interchangably. The xantophores from the brown and yellows come from the reds. In most cases a mostly yellow phenotype is considered a axanthic and a red is called anerythristic. But the the truth is we need one name that applies to both since the colors come from the reds.

Example a neonate brooks which is red but tuns yellow and is called an axanthic and not an anery by most. The late Lloyd Lemke had a good arguement for the brooksi being anerys and not axanthics.
