An all glass aquarium next to a closed window that recieves LOTS of SUN, it also provides a nice hot spot for them...Ouch!!

Personally, I have had great results useing old police strobes in my tanks. those coupled with 480 watt lights keep the temps up and the animals happy.

they do not need light.......ut they need warmth......
under tank heater......even a flex-watt heat tape......
